While I'm not technically a business, I had to create business pages across all platforms in order to run ads. Why run ads? I need to reach recruiters and hiring managers from the US, since I'm from Canada and 74% of my site traffic is driven by my Canadian network. While my accounts are setup, I'm going to begin my campaign on LinkedIn and expand into other social platforms when and if necessary.

LinkedIn:

To run ads on LinkedIn, you must have a Company Page. You can then optionally create Showcase Pages for specific campaigns.

Setup Steps:

  1. Create a LinkedIn Company Page

  2. (Optional) Create a Showcase Page

    • From your Company Page > Admin Tools > Create a Showcase Page

    • Ideal for segmenting campaigns or services

  3. Launch LinkedIn Ads

    • Visit: linkedin.com/campaignmanager

    • Create an ad account linked to your Company Page

    • Set billing info and objectives

    • Run Sponsored Content or Lead Gen ads from your page

Meta: Facebook + Instagram (via Meta Business Suite)

To advertise across Facebook and Instagram, you'll need:

  • A Facebook Business Page

  • A Meta Business Account (via Business Suite)

  • An Instagram Professional Profile linked to your Business Page

Step-by-Step: Full Setup + Linking

  1. Create a Facebook Business Page

    • Go to: facebook.com/pages/create

    • Choose “Business or Brand”

    • Page Name: WorkWithKayli

    • Upload a logo, cover photo, and add your website link

  2. Instagram

    • Option 1: Convert an Existing Instagram Account to Professional

      • Scroll down and tap Switch to Professional Account

      • Make sure your profile is set to Public

      • Link it to your Facebook Business Page when prompted

    • Option 2: Create a New Instagram Professional Account

      • Register using a new email address (e.g., kayli.campaign@gmail.com)

      • Once your profile is created, go to: Settings > Account > Switch to Professional Account

      • Link your account to your Facebook Business Page when prompted

      • In the Instagram app > Settings > Account > Switch to Professional Account

      • Make sure it's a public profile

  3. Set Up Meta Business Suite

    • Create a Business Account (you can use your name or "Work With Kayli")

    • Inside Business Settings:

      • Go to Accounts > Pages → Add your Facebook Page

      • Go to Accounts > Instagram Accounts → Add your Instagram by logging in

      • Go to Users > People → Make sure you (your personal Facebook profile) are listed as an Admin

  4. Link Facebook & Instagram Properly

    • In Meta Business Suite:

      • Settings > Business Assets > Instagram Accounts

      • Make sure the Instagram profile is connected to the correct Facebook Page

      • In your Instagram app: go to Settings > Linked Accounts → Link to Facebook Page

    • Choose your objective (Traffic, Engagement, Awareness, etc.)

    • You can now run ads from either your Facebook Page or Instagram profile — or both

YouTube: Ads via Google Ads

    • Format: Skippable in-stream or YouTube Shorts

    • Target by keywords, topics, placements, and audiences

    • Track conversions with UTM parameters or Google Analytics

TikTok:

TikTok Ads are managed via TikTok for Business, and you can start directly from a personal or newly created TikTok profile.

Setup Steps:

  1. Create a TikTok Business Account

    • Start from scratch or convert an existing profile

    • Username: @workwithkayli

    • Switch to Business in: Settings > Manage Account

  2. Set up TikTok Ads Manager

    • Go to: ads.tiktok.com

    • Create an account and select your business category

    • Add billing and link your TikTok account under Assets > TikTok Accounts

  3. Create and Launch Your Campaign

    • Objective: Choose Traffic, Leads, or Video Views

    • Ad Format: In-Feed Ads or Spark Ads (boost organic posts)

    • Customize targeting by interests, behavior, and demographics

    • Optional: Install TikTok Pixel to track on-site actions

Pro Tips for All Platforms

  • Naming: Use consistent across all profiles for brand consistency

  • Visuals: Upload cohesive banners, logos, and headshots

  • Permissions: Always use your personal profile to retain admin control

  • Tracking: Use UTM parameters to track traffic across channels

I'll be interacting with each platform throughout this campaign so give me a follow! Full transparency, this is a live campaign and I haven't mapped out my organic strategy - yet!
